What are Accessible Adventure Programs?
We are an Independence and Capacity Building Program that helps youth with disabilities build self confidence, independence skills, and engage with social connections in the community.
We serve NDIS participants, and accept individual NDIS plan funding if our services align with an individual’s plan goals. Our programs are billed on an hourly rate in accordance with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.
Are our Programs an NDIS Support?
Our service aligns with the following listed NDIS Supports as published guide which coincided with changes to NDIS legislation that took effect on 3 October 2024. (1)
Directly referenced from: “Supports that are ‘NDIS supports” Guide our services may align with the following categories:
- Development of daily care and life skills (refer to page 11)
- Daily personal activities in the community (refer to page 10)
- Group and centre based activities (refer to page 12)
- Participation in community, social and civic activities (refer to page 14)
Our service aligns with these supports as it increases the participant’s ability to independently undertake the following or be supported to access and participate in the community and activities in a group setting in the community:
- meal preparation, managing a participant’s own personal care, travel and use public transport, maintaining personal hygiene and daily skills
- engage in social activities, develop their ability to partake in these activities, improve relationships and social skills, build lasting relationships with others

Are our programs a reasonable and necessary support?
Our service supports participants to build independence, develop daily living and social skills, and participate meaningfully in community life. These outcomes directly align with the goals of the NDIS. In accordance with the NDIS Act and supporting guidelines (2), our services meet the criteria of being reasonable and necessary by promoting functional capacity, increasing social and economic participation, and being value for money. Our programs are specifically:
- related to disability support needs for individual participants
- focused on increasing functional capacity and independence
- support to build capacity, so the need for support will reduce over time as functional ability and independence increases
According to NDIS Act 2013 – Section 34 and NDIS Operational Guidelines – Reasonable and Necessary Supports our service aligns with the following:
- It supports participants to achieve their specific goals (see following section)
- Outcomes of our programs are of high value due to tailored support and unique opportunities provided to participants
- Our service is unique and not available through another mainstream service, informal support, or already funded health or education service
- Evidence in our Program Reports and repeat participant attendance shows that our service has been effective and beneficial to participant goals (see following section)
- Our service is delivered by staff with appropriate qualifications or experience in order to build capacity, independence, and inclusion
(3) National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 – Section 34: Reasonable and Necessary Supports
Does it contribute to specific Participant NDIS goals?

- Supports participants in navigating social situations with new peers and unfamiliar staff in a controlled and supported environment.
- Staff support includes modelling, prompting, and conflict resolution to develop social awareness and self-advocacy skills.
- Community outings provide opportunities to practise community navigation, respect social norms, and build confidence interacting in public settings.
- The program increases participants’ access to inclusive community spaces and experiences they may not otherwise access due to limited mobility, support needs, or social barriers.
Each Participant will receive a detailed Program Progress Report outlining their progress during our program towards NDIS goals, or over the course of multiple programs, as well as highlighting if there are further supports required in the future. These reports clearly demonstrate the ways our programs contribute to:
- Progress for Participants towards specific NDIS goals
- Outline for future supports required or reduction of supports over time as capacity increases (especially across multiple programs)
- Dedicated support strategies or documentation of key challenges to ensure other supports are aligned for the Participant accordingly

Which Line Items are used and Why?
The best option is to simply request a quote, which details exactly which line items are used. Why we use those exact line items, and how we are using them is outlined on the quote. Due to the changes that have come into effect in the NDIS from October 3rd 2024, we have updated our invoicing process so that Plan Managers can clearly see exactly how items are billed via a quote, and can then quarantine funds before attendance on a program.
